Hi guys! I have been busy making pincushions the last couple days. I found some antique shabby leather baby shoes at an estate sale this summer. They stayed in a bag for awhile until I figured out what to do with them. Last week I found a shabby bit of antique coverlet and I figured out what I wanted to do! Something about baby shoes is just so sweet.
This was the before. They were squashed and shabby and some needed mending/ reconstruction.
I like the tiny tassel on this one!
I think these were originally red. The mother of pearl buttons still have red edges.
There was a pair of these.
These were so shabby I did a total redo. I added ballet pink paint and rosettes made from vintage ribbon and vintage pearly beads.
The pincushion portion is the palest pink satin. I really like how these turned out.
Oops..repeat..sorry, I haven't figured out how to delete pix yet!
This was a vintage pink hard plastic shoe. I decided to jazz it up further with pink glitter (big surprise? No?) and a rosette. I like this one too and I will never pass up any of those vintage plastic pincushion shoes when I run across them. I saw on Pinterest how people are glittering their "big girl shoes"... I must try that myself! I have a lot of pics of my antique booth and had a fab weekend estate sale-ing. I found a huge stash of vintage printed feedsacks which I did a total happy dance about! I plan to be listing some of those pics later this week. Stop back! Julia

Oh my gosh! How very sweet! I just blogged about my vintage teacup pincushions, as well. These would go so well together.
Awww, those are so cute! I've always wondered what people do with old baby shoes, and this is a great idea.
Fabulous idea! These look great!
How cute! I've never seen anything like these. What a great idea.
